| There are about 435 species of dragonflies and damselflies in North America. The potential to be found in Chatham County is likely to be about 97 species, including 33 damselflies in three families, and 64 dragonflies in 6 families. There is a considerable way to go, and it will no doubt take some years. To date we know of only 34 species, all of which have been photographically documented. | |||
